Spend a Sunday afternoon in the 18th century at the Conrad Weiser Homestead, where costumed interpreters bring the Weiser House grounds to life. Open-hearth cooking in the Springhouse kitchen anchors the day, giving visitors a close look at how colonial households prepared their meals and what early Pennsylvania foodways actually involved.
The homestead is a Pennsylvania state historic site and a National Historic Landmark that interprets the life of Conrad Weiser, a German immigrant who worked as an interpreter and helped shape Pennsylvania's relationships with Native nations during the colonial era. Three of the buildings on the property are open for touring, and the grounds also hold two monuments, a gazebo, a pond, and the Weiser family cemetery.
The site sits on 26 acres in Womelsdorf, with picnic areas, walking space, and public restrooms, so families can make an afternoon of it. Leashed dogs are welcome. Presented by the Friends of the Conrad Weiser Homestead.
