Moon Glow Trick or Treat Trail
October 24, 2026 · Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, 1700 Hawk Mountain Rd, Kempton · Meeting spot and trail route are ADA accessible

About the event
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary turns its October woods into a glowing evening walk with the Moon Glow Trick or Treat Trail on Saturday, October 24. The Sanctuary's education staff leads a guided hike out to the South Lookout under a nearly full moon, with glow sticks, treats, and a few glowing surprises waiting along the way.
The group gathers at the Outdoor Amphitheater and follows the Silhouette Trail, the Sanctuary's smooth, gently graded path to the lookout. That route runs about 900 feet through the ridge top forest and is wheelchair accessible, so the whole walk, from meeting spot to lookout, works for visitors using wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers.
Costumes are welcome and encouraged, and outfits that allow easy movement and clear visibility work best on a nighttime trail. Bring what you would normally want for an evening outdoors in Kempton in late October, and plan for a relaxed walk in the dark with plenty to see.
