New Hampshire Fisher Cats @ Reading Fightin Phils
April 2, 2027 · 1950 Centre Ave

About the event
Double-A baseball returns to Reading as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats visit the Fightin Phils at FirstEnergy Stadium. The Fisher Cats come from Manchester as the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, while Reading has served as a Double-A home for Philadelphia Phillies prospects since the affiliation began in 1967. That makes for a matchup between two organizations sending players up the same ladder, with plenty of names worth remembering later.
Part of the appeal here is the ballpark itself. Opened in 1951 as Reading Municipal Memorial Stadium and dedicated to military personnel who died while serving, the stadium carries a classic feel behind its brick exterior, with a seating bowl that stretches roughly from foul pole to foul pole. Group spaces include a picnic area down the third base line, a party deck in left field, and a pool pavilion in right.
Between innings, the Crazy Hot Dog Vendor makes his rounds astride Rodrigo the ostrich, tossing frankfurters into the stands. It is a good afternoon or evening out for families, longtime fans, and anyone curious about what Baseballtown is all about.
