New Hampshire Fisher Cats @ Reading Fightin Phils
August 4, 2027 · 1950 Centre Ave

About the event
The Reading Fightin Phils host the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at FirstEnergy Stadium. Reading is the Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, a partnership that dates back to 1967 and makes the ballpark a regular stop for prospects on their way toward Philadelphia. The Fisher Cats, based in Manchester, are the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, so both dugouts are stocked with players climbing the ladder in their organizations.
Both clubs play in the Eastern League's Northeast Division, which means these matchups carry standings weight along with the pleasure of watching young talent up close. New Hampshire has Eastern League championship history going back to its first season in the state, and Reading has hung banners of its own over the decades.
Part of the appeal is the ballpark itself. Completed in 1951, FirstEnergy Stadium is the oldest home in the Eastern League, and its brick exterior and arched entranceways give it a classic feel, with a main entrance along the first base side that opens onto a plaza of concession stands and a performance stage. The team and the blocks around the ballpark are known locally as Baseballtown, and a summer evening here works just as well for longtime fans as for anyone bringing the family out for the first time.
