Pumpkin Class Pottery Train
Sun, Sep 27 · 42 Community Center Drive, Kempton

About the event
The Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern Railroad pairs a ride through northern Berks County with a seasonal art project. Riders board at the Kempton station and travel up the line to Wanamakers, where the pottery class is held, then return to Kempton by train once the work is done.
The route itself is part of the appeal. The round trip passes forests, streams, tree covered hills and bridges, along with the old time towns of Trexler and Wanamakers, and the Hawk Mountain Range rises to the east, a view that turns especially colorful once the autumn foliage sets in.
In class you shape the pumpkin project yourself and choose your colors, and the instructor handles the glazing, with finished pieces ready to collect at the Kempton station about two weeks later on a Sunday afternoon. Refreshments are available, and the class is kept to a small group, so seats are worth claiming early. This one suits crafters, train fans and anyone looking for a relaxed fall outing close to home.
