The Reading Roots Market brings farm vendors and fresh local produce to GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in downtown Reading for a midday Thursday gathering. Alongside the produce tables, the market makes room for free art demonstrations, story time with the Reading Public Library, live animal talks, and movement activities, so a quick shopping trip can easily turn into an afternoon out.
Rotating entertainment fills the middle of the market hour, with performances and activities that change from week to week. The mix is built for families, with things for children to watch and try while the grown-ups fill their bags.
Vendors accept SNAP/EBT, FMNP, cash, and cards. Activities and the vendor lineup can shift from week to week, which is part of what keeps regulars coming back to see what is set up under the tents.
