Reading Science Center Ribbon Cutting & Free Admission
October 3, 2026 · 10:00 AM · Reading Science Center, 645 Penn Street · Free admission all day, sponsored by EnerSys

About the event
The Reading Science Center is opening up more room for curiosity at its downtown home on Penn Street, and the community is invited to come see it. The day brings hands-on science, special activities, and a ribbon cutting for the museum's expanded exhibit space, with the official ribbon cutting and unveiling set for noon.
The new space is part of the center's plan for continued growth at its current location, made possible with support from the Pennsylvania Neighborhood Assistance Program, local businesses, individual donors, and community partners. Fundraising continues for the next phase of the project, which includes renovations to additional classroom space.
The Reading Science Center is a nonprofit hands-on science museum built around interactive STEM exhibits for children, families, and school groups. Admission is free all day thanks to sponsorship from EnerSys, so families can explore the galleries and try out the new area for themselves. Parking is validated at the DoubleTree Convention garage.
