Lace up for a morning on the trails at Rock Hollow Woods Environmental Learning Center in Birdsboro. The schedule pairs a 5K trail run with a 1 mile fun run and walk that welcomes every age, so experienced runners chasing a time and families out for a stroll through the trees both have a place at the start line. Late September is a good stretch for this kind of outing, with cooler air and the first turn of fall color along the wooded paths.
Rock Hollow Woods is a nonprofit learning center whose mission centers on giving children outdoor opportunities to discover and learn about the natural world and empower them to protect their environment, with programs and events offered for all ages, from toddlers to adults. Running its trails is a chance to see the property that supports those day camps, workshops and field trips firsthand.
