About the event
TRICH is a one-person show about living with trichotillomania, a hair-pulling disorder that often goes unnoticed by the people closest to someone who has it. The story follows a teenage girl carrying a secret she is certain no one sees, tucked away in a basement cubicle and waiting to find out whether anyone will come downstairs to find her.
The piece moves between candor and comedy, using humor, vulnerability, and a generous pile of 90s references to trace a path from isolation toward recovery. It is a warm look at mental health that trusts an audience to laugh and reflect at the same time.
The performance takes the stage at the WCR Center for the Arts on North 5th Street in Reading, a downtown venue with an intimate setting well suited to solo storytelling. Sunday afternoon timing makes it an easy addition to a weekend in the city.
