About the event
The West Reading Farmers' Market brings a producer-only lineup to the West Reading Park & Pavilion on Sunday morning, and it runs rain or shine. Every vendor is a small-scale farmer or food business from within 50 miles of the borough, and everything on the tables is grown, raised, or hand-made by the people selling it.
Expect seasonal vegetables and fruit at the peak of late September, pastured meats, poultry and eggs, cheeses, raw local honey, organic breads, artisan pastries and cookies, hand-made pasta and ravioli, olive oil, locally roasted coffee and blended teas, fresh cut flowers, herbal tinctures and body care, and locally fermented cider and beer. Live music and free samples are part of the morning, and the market welcomes questions about where your food comes from and how it was produced.
The market is set up as a gathering place as much as a shopping trip, so it suits a slow walk with the family or a stop with neighbors. SNAP is accepted, and vegetable and mushroom growers accept Farmers' Market Nutrition Program checks.
Hosted by West Reading Borough on BerksConnect.
