The West Reading Borough Recreation Commission brings its haunted house and hayride back to the playground and pavilion for a second evening of Halloween season fun. Walk through the haunted house if you are feeling brave, then climb aboard the hayride for a ride through the dark with plenty of surprises along the way.
Carnival style games round out the night, giving younger visitors and anyone who would rather stay in the open air something to do between the main attractions. The pavilion grounds are an easy, familiar spot for neighborhood families, and the whole setup is close enough together that groups can move at their own pace. Sponsorship from Discovery Federal helps keep the evening going.
This is a volunteer driven borough tradition, so expect a friendly local crowd, costumes in the mix, and a scare level aimed at neighbors of many ages. Dress for a cool October evening, since much of the fun happens outdoors.
