Angel Tree Christmas Gifts for Children From the Salvation Army in Reading
The Salvation Army Reading Citadel runs Angel Tree, a holiday program that provides warm winter clothing, toys, and other needed items to children up to 12 years of age. The Reading Citadel also assists seniors and veterans with small needs that they may have.
Families sign up for assistance during the month of October, through an in-person interview with trained volunteers. The page does not say where those interviews are held, whether you need an appointment, or what papers to bring, so ask when you call. Because the sign-up month has already passed, ask the corps what is still possible for this Christmas and when sign-ups open again.
Beyond the age limit for the children's gifts, the page does not say who qualifies, and it does not say whether anything costs money.
For questions, the Reading Citadel's general number is (610) 373-5208, and Captain Hector Cid-Ciriaco can be reached at Hector.Cid-Ciriaco@use.salvationarmy.org. Both are general contacts for the corps, not listed as a sign-up or intake line. The corps is located at 301 South 5th Street, READING, Pennsylvania 19602.
The Reading Citadel also runs a Thanksgiving Distribution and an Adopt-a-Family program, which are separate from Angel Tree.
