Respite Breaks for Caregivers of Adults With Disabilities From ProBerco
ProBerco provides respite as part of its Family Support Services, giving temporary overnight supervision of adults with disabilities so the person who normally cares for them can have a break. The break can be for a vacation, for the caregiver's own health and medical needs, or any other life situation the caregiver needs to attend to. Respite is primarily a benefit for the caregiver.
Respite is one of three Family Support Services, along with companion services and habilitation services. Family Support Services assist people living independently in their own home or living with their parents or caregivers. Support is given one-to-one, and the services a person receives are determined by that person's Individual Support Plan, known as an ISP. ProBerco Direct Support Professionals, called DSPs, provide emotional support along with socialization and community engagement assistance.
