Computer Skills Training and Laptop Use at the Literacy Council
The Literacy Council of Reading-Berks helps people build computer skills through Northstar Digital Literacy, an online on-demand, interactive digital training resource, and it offers on-site use of laptops for people who do not have a device.
The Northstar modules are self-guided. They lead you through practice exercises to strengthen your digital understanding, build your computer confidence and master your digital skills. Select lessons are offered in Latin American Spanish.
To start the training, create your own account through the Literacy Council's Northstar page at digitalliteracyassessment.org. The Literacy Council serves adults and businesses.
If you need a device, the Literacy Council offers on-site use of laptops so you have the tools you need to stay connected. The laptops are for use at the site.
The Literacy Council also publishes a Digital Resource Library you can download for more local resources that support digital literacy.
