List of English, GED and Citizenship Classes in Berks County
The Literacy Council of Reading-Berks keeps a list of other places in Berks County that teach English as a Second Language, high school equivalency and citizenship classes, so you can find a program that fits you. The list is there to connect you to the resources you need.
The classes on the list are offered to adults 18 and older in Berks County. The information is current as of June 2026, and you contact each program yourself to learn more.
These are the programs on the list:

- Reading Area Community College (RACC) English for Academic Purposes Program, Yocum Library Room 104. Eleisha Moreno, Program Coordinator, 610-372-4721 ext. 5094. Credited ESL classes.
- Literacy Programs Information Center, Kratz Hall, Third Floor, 111 Riverfront Dr. Reading, PA 19602, 610-372-4721 ext. 5322. Free and non-credited ESL, GED, ABE and bilingual classes.
- TEC Centro (Berks Latino Workforce Development Center), 450 S 6th St Reading, PA 19602. ESL and workforce training classes. For a high school diploma: Light and Salt Learning, the official GED site and GED Practice Questions, which offers free GED practice tests. For citizenship: USALearns and El Civics, which has civics, government and history lessons for ESL learners.
The Literacy Council is also one of 265 Laundromat Library League distribution sites in 35 states. The League makes children's books available to children who have little or no access to books at home, by placing books in laundromats and similar sites where children and caregivers spend time waiting. Children and caregivers are invited to enjoy a book, take it home and eventually pass it on to another child. You can stop by the office for a book.
