Street Medicine Clinics for People Experiencing Homelessness From Reading Hospital
Reading Hospital's Street Medicine Program brings primary and preventative care directly to people who are unsheltered, living in a shelter, or at high risk of becoming homeless, with clinics at shelters and outreach programs around the city of Reading. The team also goes out to encampments, parks, under bridges, and along rivers and mountains throughout the county.
You can come for a new health problem or something you have had for a long time. Examples include medicine refills, cold symptoms, sore muscles and joints, flu shots, blood pressure checks, a new or long-term wound, diabetes education, trouble with your feet, women's health (by appointment), and check-ups and care for children.
The program also offers telemedicine visits, diabetic education, physical therapy, endocrinology, pulmonary, neurology, and vision sub-clinics, screenings for social factors affecting health, comprehensive case management that includes help with housing, transportation, and documentation, rapid HIV testing, and hepatitis C testing. Primary care includes internal medicine, family medicine, OB/GYN care (prenatal and postpartum care, contraception and family planning, gynecological exams, menstrual health and menopause management, and cancer screenings), addiction medicine, pediatric services such as school entry physicals and daycare forms, podiatry, and psychiatry. Some services are provided periodically or intermittently.
A telemedicine kiosk lets you talk with Street Medicine health professionals by video for things like medication refills, cold symptoms, sore muscles and joints, blood pressure checks, diabetes education, and follow ups.

Not every site is open every week. The posted 2026 schedule runs from July through December, with morning and midday clinics on set Wednesdays and evening clinics on set Tuesdays at Hope Rescue Mission and Lighthouse. The Tuesday evening clinics alternate between pediatrics and OB/GYN, so check which date matches what you need before you go.
