Pinochle and Hausie is a card and game get-together at the Berks Encore Fleetwood Wellness & Activity Center on Kutztown Road. Players gather around the tables on Wednesdays at midday for pinochle and hausie, with regulars who are happy to see new faces join in.
The group is for older adults, and it is part of the wider mix of games, bingo, crafts and exercise offered at the Fleetwood center. Some knowledge of pinochle helps, but anyone willing to learn is welcome to sit in and pick up the play. Bring nothing but yourself; cards and tables are set up at the center.
To take part, contact the Fleetwood center manager or stop by ahead of time to say you are coming. If you would like a grab and go lunch on the same day, the center asks that meals be ordered in advance through the center manager.
