Welding Basics: Session F
Starts Sat, Dec 12, 2:30 PM · Member: $68.00 / Non-Member: $80.00 · Ages 16 and up

About the workshop
This one session workshop at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts introduces the basics of MIG welding, where an electric arc melts a wire electrode and metal so the pieces join. It runs on a Saturday afternoon from 2:30 to 5 PM and is open to all skill levels, so no prior experience with a welder is needed. Students finish the session with a small metal sculpture to take home.
The class meets in the Welding Studio in Building 4 on the GoggleWorks campus at 201 Washington St in Reading. Brian Glaze leads the workshop. Come dressed in flame resistant clothing, long pants and heavy closed toe shoes, which are required to take part.
The workshop is open to teens 16 and older and to adults. Students under 18 enrolling in an adult course need written permission from a parent or guardian, arranged with the GoggleWorks programs office before the start date. Sign up through the class page on the GoggleWorks website. Registration closes five business days before the class begins, and a waitlist is offered if the session fills.
