Martin Guitar Factory Tour and Museum
Nazareth, PA · 1 hour 16 minutes from Reading · Under $20 a person

Plan the day
Martin Guitar's factory in Nazareth, PA, offers a one-hour guided factory tour and a free museum. Tours leave weekdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; the museum, 1833 Shop and Pickin' Parlor are open weekdays 9 to 4:30.
The tour costs $10 and walks you through the handmade work on every instrument in groups of no more than 8, with headphones so you can hear the guide over the floor. The museum displays well over a hundred guitars (the company's count), among them the earliest known Martin, Kurt Cobain's D-18 from MTV Unplugged and a 1930 OM-45 De Luxe, and the Pickin' Parlor lets you play select instruments sold from the factory.
