Alley Open Mic brings the microphone to anyone with something to share. Presented by The Smiley House Project and GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, the series welcomes performances of every kind and in every language, including singing, rapping, comedy, poetry, dance, and whatever else counts as creative expression. Sets are acoustic or run through a Bluetooth speaker, so leave the amps at home.
The evening takes place on the outdoor Thorn Alley Stage, with doors opening at 5:45 PM and performances running through 8:00 PM. Time slots are first come, first served, so arriving early is the surest way onto the lineup. If the weather turns, the whole thing moves indoors to Thorn Alley Kitchen.
Refreshments are available for purchase from Thorn Alley Kitchen. Come to perform or come to listen, and expect a mix of voices from across the community on the same stage.
