The Landscapes of Berks County: A Group Exhibition
November 21, 2026 · Yocum Institute for Arts Education, 3000 Penn Avenue, West Lawn · Free admission

About the event
The Holleran Gallery at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education turns its walls over to Berks County itself. The Landscapes of Berks County gathers four award-winning local artists, Jonathan Bond, Robert Seabourne, Russell Slocum, and Karen Weber, each working in a distinct style and each drawn to the places, history, and natural beauty of this region.
Visitors move through familiar landmarks, rolling countryside, historic settings, and quiet natural spaces, along with imaginative interpretations that reward a slower second look. Slocum, of Wyomissing, paints much of his work outdoors en plein air and builds other pieces from his own photographs and sketches, with scenes reaching from Hamburg to Hopewell Furnace and the Oley Valley to Robesonia.
The Yocum Institute is a nonprofit community arts center in West Lawn, home to studios, classrooms, and the gallery, so a visit fits easily into an afternoon errand or a weekend walk. It is a welcoming stop for anyone curious about how neighbors see the county they live in.
