Alzheimer’s Support Group: Balancing Independence and Support
September 17, 2026 · 6:30 PM · Chestnut Knoll, 120 W. 5th Street, Boyertown · Free

About the event
Senior care experts at Chestnut Knoll host a monthly Alzheimer's Support Group, a program of the Alzheimer's Association, for family caregivers and the loved ones they are supporting through the dementia journey. The setting is welcoming and low key, built around connecting with others who understand, sharing experiences, and finding practical guidance.
This session focuses on balancing independence and support, the question of what to do when someone wants to keep doing things their own way while their needs are clearly changing. The conversation covers resistance to help, safety concerns, caregiver guilt, and ways to step in while preserving a loved one's dignity.
The group meets at Chestnut Knoll on West Fifth Street in Boyertown and runs until 8:00 PM. An RSVP is requested, by calling 610-473-8066 or emailing JKrasley@chestnutknoll.com.
