Alzheimer’s Support Group: The Meaning Behind the Moment
October 15, 2026 · 6:30 PM · Chestnut Knoll, 120 W. 5th Street, Boyertown · Free

About the event
Caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia often means learning a new kind of listening. When words become harder to find, feelings show up instead through gestures, moods, and behavior. This session, titled "The Meaning Behind the Moment," looks at how to read those signals, recognize the unmet need behind them, and stay connected with the person in front of you.
Jess King of ElderCare Collaborative leads the evening, sharing practical insight on decoding emotions and actions so family members and care partners can respond with more confidence. It runs an hour, which makes it easy to fit into a weeknight, and the discussion is open to anyone supporting a loved one at any stage.
The group gathers at Chestnut Knoll, a personal care and memory care community in the borough of Boyertown. Its Memory Care Neighborhood is designed for seniors living with memory impairment due to Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia, so the setting comes with staff who understand the questions families bring. An RSVP with Chestnut Knoll is requested ahead of time.
