About the event
Historic Crystal Cave opens its passages after dark for a lantern led walk through the site's older stories. Guides in Victorian clothing lead the tour the way it was given in the 1870s, with the cave lit only by the glow of hand held lanterns as the group moves through the formations.
Along the way, the guides share accounts of curious and unexplained incidents recorded inside the cave and on the surrounding grounds during the 1800s, including tales that are not part of the regular daytime cavern tour. The result is an evening built for visitors who like a little atmosphere with their local history, and it is meant as family entertainment rather than a scare attraction.
The walk covers the same underground terrain as a standard cave visit, so comfortable shoes and a light layer are a good idea since the cave stays cool year round. Each guest also takes home a souvenir Crystal Cave lantern from the evening.
Hosted by Crystal Cave on BerksConnect.
