The Greater Reading Area Dance Exchange Festival brings local dance to the stage at Alvernia University's Francis Hall Theatre. Presented by JCWK Dance Lab, the Berks County company led by founder and director Jessica Warchal-King, the festival gathers adult-focused performance groups and independent artists from around the Greater Reading area for an evening program.
The lineup draws on the range of dance practiced across the county, with styles that have included ballet and contemporary work alongside Irish dance, flamenco, Latin social dance, folk traditions, and aerial movement. Each program is built around a different mix of performers, so the evening moves between traditions in a way that reflects the communities behind them. This edition is also tied to the countywide celebration of Berks County's 275th anniversary.
The performance is family friendly and welcoming to newcomers as well as longtime dance audiences. Alvernia University has parking on site, and Francis Hall Theatre is ADA accessible.
