About the event
Reading Coffee Company opens its bar for an evening of espresso instruction led by Beverage Director John Cappelletti. The session starts with a short talk on espresso as a brewing method, then moves into a look at workflow and hands-on practice on the shop's equipment.
From there the focus turns to tasting and dialing in a shot, with guidance you can carry back to a machine at home. Time is set aside for questions, and participants go home with a few gifts. Nothing to bring along, and tasting discard cups are available for anyone watching their caffeine.
This is a good fit for home baristas who want professional-level coaching, anyone who received an espresso machine and wants to use it well, and newer coffee enthusiasts weighing whether a home setup makes sense for them. Because the workshop involves hot equipment, water, steam, and liquids, closed-toe shoes and practical clothing are recommended, and the instructor should be told in advance about allergies, sensitivities, or physical limitations.
