Jazz on the Avenue – “The Music of Sinatra, Bennet, Darin, & More”, Erich Cawalla All-Star Quartet
November 13, 2026 · 7:00 PM · Yocum Institute for Arts Education, 3000 Penn Avenue, West Lawn
About the event
Jazz on the Avenue returns to the Yocum Institute with vocalist Erich Cawalla and his All-Star Quartet, performing the songbook made famous by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, and other giants of the era. The Pennsylvania native describes his sound as Old Vegas meeting contemporary R&B, a mix that gives familiar standards a fresh swing while keeping the warmth and polish that made them classics.
Cawalla is joined by a group of seasoned players: Steve Rudolph on piano, Bennie Sims on bass, and Marko Marcinko on drums. Together they bring the kind of close listening and interplay that makes a small jazz ensemble so satisfying live, with room for the band to stretch out between the vocal numbers.
The concert begins at 7:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 3000 Penn Avenue in West Lawn. It is a comfortable, intimate setting for an evening of timeless favorites, and a good night out for anyone who grew up with these songs or is just discovering them.
