Blues with Shubalananda @ Thorn Alley Stage
October 9, 2026 · 7:00 PM · GoggleWorks, 201 Washington St, Reading · Seating is limited and available first come, first served; a ticket does not guarantee a seat.

About the event
Kirtan is a musical tradition rooted in Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of love and devotion. Mantra, rhythm, and long standing Indian spiritual practice come together in music that can feel meditative one moment and buoyant the next, and the Thorn Alley Stage at GoggleWorks makes an intimate setting for it in downtown Reading.
Shubalananda Saraswati is an American sadhu who travels widely sharing kirtan, and his approach brings a blues rooted sound to the form. With his band behind him, the evening pairs soulful vocals and mantra with steady rhythm and skilled playing.
Whether you have sung kirtan before or are hearing it for the first time, this is an accessible introduction to a place where musical and spiritual traditions meet. Seating is limited and offered first come, first served, so arriving early is worthwhile if you would like a seat.
