NEW DATE!!!!! October 16th Senior Series - Abigail Rockwell: Remembrances of Norman Rockwell
October 16, 2026 · 1:00 PM · The Reading Public Museum, 500 Museum Road · Senior-friendly program

About the event
Abigail Rockwell, granddaughter of illustrator Norman Rockwell, visits the Reading Public Museum for a Senior Series conversation about the artist behind some of the most familiar images in American life. The program is built as an informal Q&A, so guests can ask questions and hear family memories alongside insights into how her grandfather worked and how his legacy has carried forward.
The talk connects to the Museum's exhibition Rockwell/Wyeth: Icons of Americana. A jazz singer, songwriter, and scholar of her grandfather's work, Abigail brings a close perspective on the paintings and Saturday Evening Post covers that captured the humor, warmth, and nostalgia of everyday scenes. Expect stories that rarely turn up in biographies, covering Norman Rockwell as an artist, a grandfather, and a careful observer of American culture.
The Senior Series offers relaxed, senior-friendly programming that goes deeper into what is on view in the galleries, and this session is a welcoming way to spend an afternoon at the Museum on Museum Road.
Hosted by Reading Public Museum on BerksConnect.
