About the event
The Neag Planetarium turns its dome into a full sky canvas for Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon, a fulldome audio visual presentation built around the band's landmark album. All ten tracks play in order while 360 degree visuals wrap the room, some drawing on the band's history and others reaching toward an imagined future. The piece comes from the team at NSC Creative working with Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis, Pink Floyd's longtime creative collaborator.
Showings are at 5:30, 6:45 and 8:00 PM. The planetarium sits in its own building on the Reading Public Museum campus at 500 Museum Road, so allow a little extra time to park and find your way to the door before your check in window closes.
This is a good fit for longtime Floyd listeners, for anyone curious about what a planetarium dome can do with sound and light, and for families looking for an evening out close to home. The production uses no strobing, though there are some quick flickering light transitions worth knowing about in advance.
Hosted by Reading Public Museum on BerksConnect.
