The Reading YMCA turns its building over to Halloween for an evening of music, dancing, and games. Kids and grown-ups can work their way through crafts and festive activities, grab snacks along the way, and spend time on the dance floor before the night is done.
Costumes are the heart of it. A contest is open to children and adults alike, so the whole family can plan outfits together and show them off in front of a friendly crowd of neighbors. The setting is indoors and supervised, which makes it a comfortable option for younger trick or treaters and a relaxed one for the adults bringing them.
The event is organized by the YMCA of Reading and Berks County and is one of several Halloween gatherings the organization holds across its branches during October. This one runs the evening before Halloween at the Washington Street location in downtown Reading, and an RSVP is requested so staff can plan for activities and snacks.
