Trail Tales invites the youngest nature lovers in Berks County to Antietam Lake Park for a morning of stories, discovery, and hands-on fun. Settle in for an hour of guided meditation led by the Kula Kamala Foundation, the nonprofit yoga ashram and spiritual center based on Basket Road in Berks County. The session begins at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, September 8, and runs until 6:30 PM, an easy stretch of quiet built into the end of a workday. A guided session means someone talks you through it, so no experience is needed and you do not have to know anything about meditation beforehand to take part. The foundation is a nonsectarian organization whose programs bring yoga, meditation, and related wellness practices to the general public across the region, including people who might not otherwise have access to them. JCWK Dance Lab partners with Alvernia University for a dance series made for adults, whether you teach at a studio, study in college, or have been curious about trying a class for the first time. Classes come in different levels and time slots, so you can pick what fits your experience and your schedule. The nine week program moves through three groupings of offerings. Series 1 brings Beginning Jazz with Jessica Warchal-King and Intermediate Contemporary with Arielle Ridley. Series 2 features Beginning Modern with Warchal-King and Floor Work with Megan Zalek. Series 3 covers Beginning Ballet with Sarena Gable and Warchal-King, plus Flamenco with Amanda Pena. The instructors are professional dancers and educators, and the focus is on the joy and connection that come from moving together. JCWK Dance Lab is a Berks County based contemporary dance company centered on joy, connection, and wellness, and its founder and director, Jessica Warchal-King, is a lecturer and artist in residence in dance at Alvernia University. With the season winding toward its close in September, this is a good evening to catch Double-A ball close to home.
