About the event

WhenFri, Oct 30, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Longswamp Township has set its trick-or-treat night for Friday, October 30, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The township posted the date on a flyer on its Parks and Recreation events page, which reads "Longswamp Township Trick or Treat Night, Friday October 30, 2026, 6PM-8PM." No rain date is given.

The township covers Mertztown and the countryside around it in eastern Berks, with neighborhoods spread out along the state roads and side streets rather than packed into a grid, so most families drive between clusters of houses and walk each one. Porch lights on mean a house is taking part.

A few simple things help the night go smoothly: bring a flashlight or add something reflective to darker costumes, watch for cars on the rural roads, and wrap up by 8:00 PM. The township also holds its Great Pumpkin Hunt at the Community Park earlier in October; see the Parks and Recreation page for that one. Questions about trick-or-treat night can go to the township office on State Street in Mertztown.
