The Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern Railroad turns an autumn afternoon into a short trip through the Berks countryside, with the WK&S Great Pumpkin Patch waiting at the other end. Riders climb aboard at the Kempton station, enjoy the ride out, and then step off to walk the patch and pick a pumpkin to take home.

Back at the station, a selection of decorating kits is on hand so everyone can dress up their pumpkin before heading out, and the railroad's witches are on duty handing out treats. The patch is set up with grown-ups in mind as much as children, so pumpkin picking is fair game for the whole group.

Trains depart at 1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m., and reservations are suggested. There are no restrooms aboard the trains, so plan accordingly before departure, and trains leave on schedule. Cameras are welcome for the ride and the patch.
