About the event
Climb aboard at the Kempton station and ride the rails out to the WK&S Great Pumpkin Patch, where riders of every age get to walk the patch and choose a pumpkin to take home. The short country trip through the Berks countryside is half the fun, with open windows, autumn scenery, and the steady rhythm of a vintage train doing the work.
Back at the station, a selection of decorating kits is waiting so you can dress up your pumpkin on the spot. The railroad's friendly witches hand out treats, and there is time to look around the grounds before or after your ride.
Trains leave at 1, 2, 3, and 4 p.m., so families can pick the departure that fits the day. Reservations are suggested, trains run promptly on schedule, and there are no restrooms on board, so plan ahead before you board. Bring a camera and comfortable shoes for walking the patch.
