Computer Classes and Public Computer Lab at Centro Hispano in Reading

Centro Hispano Daniel Torres runs a Digital Equity Program in Reading that helps adults build the skills and confidence to use computers and the internet. A bilingual Digital Navigator teaches in-person and virtual classes on basic computer skills, email setup, health portals, resume building, job searching, online safety and more.

The classes follow the nationally recognized NorthStar digital literacy standards and include guided instruction, hands-on practice, and the chance to earn certificates that show what you can do. The program links learners to NorthStar so you can create a learner account and sign in to it.

If you would rather get help one person at a time than sit in a class, one-on-one digital guidance sessions in the computer lab cover computers, smartphones and the internet, whether you are a complete beginner or trying to fix one specific problem. A digital mentor walks through it with you step by step.

The computer lab is open to the community every Tuesday and Thursday, and everyone is welcome to use the computers for whatever they need to get done. If you need help while you are there, the Digital Navigator can guide you through the activity or process.

Hours listed for the program are Monday thru Friday, 9:00AM to 4:00PM. The general number for Centro Hispano is 610-685-1265; the page tells people to call that number about classes and courses, but the notice on the page refers to the Spring 2026 term, which has already passed, so ask what classes are running now and when the next one starts.

The page does not say where the classes and the computer lab are held. Centro Hispano lists two locations in Reading, the Welcome Center at 201 Penn Street, Suite 101 and the Centro Hispano CASA Senior Center at 25 N 2nd Street, so ask which address to go to when you call. The page also does not say what the classes or the lab cost, or whether you need to sign up ahead of time, so ask about that too.

Centro Hispano is a member of the Berks County Digital Coalition.
