Wellness on Wheels Mobile Medical Unit From Berks Community Health Center
Berks Community Health Center sends its Wellness on Wheels Mobile Medical Unit into neighborhoods around Berks County so people can get primary care close to home. The health center has partnered with several organizations across the county to host the unit.
The mobile unit serves ages 12 and up. Care on board includes a well check up, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic disease, referrals to specialists, sports physicals, drivers license physicals, COVID vaccines and flu vaccines.
Appointments are required for the mobile unit. Call 610-988-4838 to make one.
For primary care appointments, your insurance provider is billed for the visit. If you do not have insurance, you will be given a sliding fee application to find out what your cost will be based on your family size and income. COVID and flu vaccines cost you nothing out of pocket. Bring your health insurance card so the health center can bill your insurer for the vaccine administration fee, and you will not be responsible for vaccination charges your insurance does not cover. If you have no insurance, you will not be charged an administration fee.
