PA VETConnect Help Finding Veterans Resources in Pennsylvania
PA VETConnect, run by the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), works out what veterans and their beneficiaries need, finds resources that meet those needs, and connects veterans with those resources. The department has staff living and working in communities across the commonwealth doing this work daily, serving Pennsylvania's nearly 700,000 veterans.
It is for veterans and their beneficiaries anywhere in Pennsylvania. The resources are available to eligible veterans no matter what county you live in, what branch you served in, or what your military rank was while in uniform. Berks County veterans are included.
From PA VETConnect you can reach several related services: PA Navigate, a locator for state veterans programs, a locator for federal veterans programs, applying for residency at a state veterans home, the Pennsylvania Veterans Registry, finding an accredited veteran service officer, the Lickdale Veterans' Outreach Center, requesting a mobile veteran service officer outreach team, veterans' events, and military awards for valor.
For general questions, the DMVA gives a toll free number, 800-547-2838, or 717-861-8910, and an email address, RA-VA-Info@pa.gov. There is also a contact form on the department's contact page. The department's address is PA Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Bldg. 0-47, Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA 17003-5002. The PA VETConnect page prints the toll free number as 800-547-2938, so if one number does not connect, try the other.
The page does not describe an application form, an intake process, office hours or any cost, so ask when you contact the department.
Veterans in crisis can call the Veterans Crisis Line by dialing 988 and pressing 1.
