Cookie Policy

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Berks Connect ("BerksConnect," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar browser technologies on berksconnect.com (the "Site"). Read it together with our Privacy Policy, which describes the information we collect, why we use it, and the parties with whom we share it.

1. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files that a website or service stores on your browser or device. Some last only for a browsing session, while others remain until they expire or you delete them. First-party cookies are associated with the site you visit; third-party cookies are associated with another service.

We also use browser storage and related technologies. Unlike cookies, information in local or session storage is not automatically sent with every web request. The exact identifiers and retention periods used by a provider may change as its services and configuration change.

2. Technologies We Use

Authentication and Security

Our authentication service uses cookies or similar storage to keep users signed in, complete secure sign-in flows, and protect accounts. If you block these technologies, you may be unable to sign in or remain signed in. Optional sign-in through a third-party identity provider may also use technologies controlled by that provider during the authentication process.

Our sign-in, sign-up, and account-recovery forms also use a third-party bot-detection service to help distinguish people from automated programs. While completing its check, that service may process technical signals about your browser, device, and network, and may use cookies or similar storage. Blocking it may prevent these forms from submitting.

Site Functionality

We may use cookies or browser storage to remember interface state and support features such as administrative navigation. We use session storage to remember whether certain email sign-up prompts have already appeared during a browsing session.

Analytics and Performance

  • Third-party analytics services: We use a small number of third-party analytics services to understand Site traffic, use, and performance. Depending on the service, its configuration, and your browser settings, these tools may set or read cookies and may collect page, device, referral, interaction, and network information. At least one of the analytics tools we use is designed to measure traffic without cookies or persistent identifiers.
  • BerksConnect listing analytics: We use a randomly generated identifier stored in session storage to help measure activity involving business listings and other pages, such as views, impressions, calls, link clicks, and direction requests. Associated server records may include the page or business involved, the event, date and time, referral information, IP address, browser or device information, and a user ID when the visitor is signed in.

Payments and Third-Party Pages

Our third-party payment processor handles paid-plan subscriptions and may use cookies or similar technologies for checkout, account management, security, and fraud prevention. Other third-party pages you open from the Site may use their own technologies under their own policies.

3. Advertising Cookies

BerksConnect does not currently use cookies to sell personal information or to serve cross-site behaviorally targeted advertising. If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide any choices required by applicable law.

4. Your Choices

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local or session storage. Blocking essential authentication technologies may prevent account features from working, and clearing session storage may reset in-session preferences or identifiers.

Many analytics providers also offer their own opt-out tools, and most browsers include tracking-protection settings that apply to the technologies described here. Provider-level choices may not prevent BerksConnect from collecting information needed to operate, secure, or measure its own services.

5. Do Not Track and Other Preference Signals

Some browsers send "Do Not Track" or other privacy preference signals. Because there is no single standard that applies to every signal and use, the Site does not currently respond to all such signals in a uniform way. We will honor legally required opt-out signals if and when they apply to our practices.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our services, providers, or legal obligations change. The date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes may also be communicated through the Site or by another appropriate method.
