About the program
JR. Book Club is a reading group for kids at the Bethel-Tulpehocken Public Library in Bethel. Members read the month's book on their own first, then meet for a friendly discussion along with activities tied to the story. Copies of the book are available at the library, so you can stop in anytime to pick one up.
The group meets at midday for an hour. The series opens with a book club launch party, and titles on the reading list include Cricket in Times Square by George Selden, The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street by Karina Yan Glaser, and Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate. It is intended for ages 9 to 13, and there is no charge to take part.
Registration is welcome anytime before a meeting. You can sign up by calling or texting the library, or through the library's website.
