Handcrafted Holiday Market Fused Glass Ornament Workshop
Starts Sat, Dec 5 · $30.00 · Ages 14 and up
About the workshop
During GoggleWorks' Handcrafted Holiday Market, a pop-up shop of handmade gifts from artists and makers, you can step into the glass studio and make a gift of your own. In this drop-in style workshop you build a fused glass ornament with help from GoggleWorks instructors. Fused glass is an art form in which separate pieces of compatible glass are joined together by heating them in a kiln.
The workshop is open to all skill levels and is for ages 14 and up. Sessions run in short time slots across the day, and you choose your start time when you register. Class meets in the Fusing Studio in Building 6 at GoggleWorks on Washington Street in Reading.
Finished pieces need a few weeks of turnaround time, since the glass has to be fired. The Programs Department emails you when your ornament is ready to pick up. Register online through the GoggleWorks class page. Children ages 6 to 12 have their own holiday market activity, Winter Wonderland.
