Jewelry Making with Precious Metal Clay

About the workshop
Work with silver precious metal clay and make your own jewelry in one afternoon. You will learn to shape, texture, mold and refine the clay into original designs, then fire the pieces so the clay becomes solid silver. After firing, you finish and polish your work and take your completed pieces home at the end of class.
No previous jewelry making experience is needed, so this workshop suits all skill levels. It is open to teens ages 14 and up and to adults. Minna Aaparyti teaches. Closed-toe shoes are required. The class meets in the Metalsmithing Studio in Building 6 on the GoggleWorks campus in Reading, and staff at the front desk can point you to the right studio if you are unsure.
This is a single Sunday afternoon session. Sign up through the class page on the GoggleWorks website. Registration closes five business days before the class begins, and a materials charge is paid at the time of registration. Scholarships are available through GoggleWorks.
