About the workshop
In this single session workshop at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, you learn how to cut, shape, and polish a stone into a finished, custom cut tree gem. You can work with stone available in the studio or bring your own. Accepted stones are pectolite, calcite, fluorite, orthoclase, and quartz. Street rocks and precious gems are not used in this class.
The workshop is open to all skill levels and is set up for adults. The instructor teaches in both English and Spanish. Closed toe shoes are required. The class meets in the Metalsmithing Studio in Building 6 on the GoggleWorks campus at 201 Washington St in Reading, and staff at the front desk can point you to the room when you arrive.
