November Ceramics Maker Date: Raku
Starts Fri, Nov 20, 6:00 PM · $96.00

About the workshop
This is a single evening ceramics workshop at GoggleWorks in Reading, built as a Maker Date for two. You glaze two pre-made bud vases, watch a wheel throwing demonstration, and then see your pieces fired in a raku kiln and pulled out red hot. Raku cools quickly, so you take your work home the same night. A shared charcuterie spread and a draft beverage from Thorn Alley Kitchen are part of the evening.
The workshop is for adults and is open to all skill levels, so no clay experience is needed. It meets in the Ceramics Studio in Building 3. Wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Registration covers one person, so each attendee needs their own spot.
Add-ons may be offered when you register, including a multi-course dinner at Thorn Alley Kitchen before the workshop and a supervised drop off with dinner and a craft for children in a youth classroom. The drop off requires registering ahead, and children must be potty trained. Sign up through the GoggleWorks class page; registration closes five business days before the class starts.
