About the workshop
This is a single evening on the pottery wheel at GoggleWorks. You start with a ball of clay, learn the basics of throwing, and shape a piece of your own. When your work is done, you pick a glaze from the ceramics studio's selection. Instructor Justin George leads the session, and all skill levels are welcome, so no previous clay experience is needed.
Plan to wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Firing and glazing take time, so your finished piece will not go home with you that night. The Programs team emails you when it is ready to pick up, usually after a few weeks. The workshop meets in the Ceramics Studio in Building 3 on the GoggleWorks campus at 201 Washington Street in Reading, and the front desk can point you there when you arrive.
Sign up through the GoggleWorks class page for this session. Registration closes several business days before the start date. Anyone under 18 enrolling in an adult course needs written permission from a parent or guardian, which GoggleWorks provides by email. Scholarships are available through GoggleWorks.
