Art Explorers looks at the lives and work of famous artists, both from the past and working today. Students learn about those artists and then make their own pieces inspired by what they have seen.
The class uses an array of artistic mediums, including painting, sculpture and collage, so students try several ways of working and take home art that is their own. It is built for ages 8 to 13, and the instructor is Nadia Pochan.
The group meets on Thursday evenings for an hour, and the course runs eight weeks. Registration is handled by the Yocum Institute for Arts Education, and enrollment is confirmed once payment is arranged.
