About the course
Open Studio for Teens gives young artists a relaxed, supportive place to work at their own pace in a fully equipped art studio. Students are encouraged to bring their own ideas and projects, try new materials, and explore different techniques.
An artist mentor is on hand to give guidance, feedback and creative support whenever a student wants it. Teens can work on their own or team up with others on group projects, so there is room to build skills, follow your own creative ideas, and get to know other young artists.
The class meets Thursday evenings for an hour and is open to ages 13 to 16. Teens who already have a project in mind are welcome to bring it along. Sign up through the Yocum Institute for Arts Education, which offers a lower rate for members.
