If you're renting a hall in Berks County for a graduation party, a shower, an anniversary or a reception, the halls that print a flat rate for a party charge between $100 and $400 for the room as of 2026, two charge by the hour, Earl Township prints $325 in its linked rental agreement, and the rest give the figure when you call. The rules about tables, the kitchen, alcohol and the deposit decide the rest of your budget, and the halls print some of them; the rest are questions for the call. Start with the full list of event venues in Berks County, then call with a date and head count.

Where can you rent a hall in Berks County?

Families here rent four kinds of building. The first is a fire company's hall: Oley and West Wyomissing rent the hall of their social quarters, the members' bar, and Ruscombmanor, Earl Township and Virginville rent a hall. The second is a township or borough building: Exeter Township's Dunn Community Center, West Reading's Bicentennial House and Fleetwood's community center café. The third is a private banquet hall, Fish Pond West in Reading. The fourth is a church or community hall: Kraras Hall of Wyomissing, on East Wyomissing Boulevard in Reading, and up north the Kempton Community Center's banquet hall, seating 300.

So which do you call first? Up to 40, the Bicentennial House; up to 50, Dunn's lower level; up to 100, Oley's social quarters hall; up to 145, Dunn's upper level; up to 150, Ruscombmanor, West Wyomissing or Earl Township; 250 or more, Kraras, Kempton or Virginville. The county parks are separate; see how to rent a pavilion in a Berks County park.

Two halls just over the Lancaster County line also print their terms. The Reinholds Fire Company rents its banquet room for $175, the kitchen for $50 more and permission to serve alcohol for $75, with a $100 cash deposit. Weaver's Banquet Facility seats 25 to 350 and serves its own menu with the room included, so no outside food or drink, and a $500 non-refundable deposit holds a Saturday.

Capacity, rates and rules, as each hall prints them on its own page.

The $100 is the Bicentennial House's resident weekday rate, and the $400 is the whole Oley Fair Centre or Dunn's upper level for a non-resident. The hourly halls charge for the hours you're there, so count the setup and cleanup hours too. Oley prices a wedding separately, at $1,500 a day; its party rates are for everything else, and wedding pricing has its own post, what a wedding venue costs in Berks County. Fleetwood Borough's community center café charges by the hour and rents only to borough residents and the Fleetwood area; borough residents pay less.

What comes with the room: tables, kitchen and cleanup?

Tables and chairs come with most halls. A kitchen comes with Dunn's upper level, the Bicentennial House, Earl Township and Kempton; at West Wyomissing there's no kitchen and a steam table rents for $25, and the rest don't print one. Kraras Hall sets out tables and chairs but no tablecloths and no kitchen use; its caterers bring the food.

Who sets up and who cleans? At the township and borough buildings you do both, and the Bicentennial House lets you in two hours early. The Oley Fair Centre and Kraras Hall end at 11 p.m., Earl Township's agreement says 11:30, Dunn's evening block ends at 9, and the Bicentennial House's party is over by 10:30; ask about the rest on the tour. The Earl Township fire company's hall in Boyertown comes with the full kitchen, and the company gives tours on Monday evenings.

Can you bring your own alcohol to a hall in Berks County?

It depends on the kind of building. A fire company's social quarters that holds a club license sells drinks to its members, and a club licensed to cater can sell to your guests at an event booked at least a day ahead. So at Oley's social quarters hall and West Wyomissing's, all beverages are bought from the club's bar.

At a township building or a church hall, the question is BYOB, bringing your own alcohol. That's the state's rule for a hall with no license: you may give away alcohol you bought legally in Pennsylvania to invited guests who are 21 and not visibly intoxicated, as long as nothing is charged for it: no ticket, no donation, no required purchase. The building adds its own rule on top: Dunn and the Bicentennial House allow no alcohol, and Fleetwood's café needs a permit for the event. The Oley Fair Centre's page says you supply your own beverages, and Ruscombmanor's doesn't address alcohol, so at both the rule is one to settle with the fire company.

What if you want drinks sold there? A caterer that holds a restaurant or hotel liquor license can do that under its own catering permit, the permit that lets it sell drinks at a hall with no liquor license, for a function arranged at least thirty days ahead. The alcohol and the paperwork are the caterer's, and what wedding catering costs in Berks County explains how a caterer prices a bar. The State Police's liquor enforcement bureau enforces these rules and a municipality may restrict BYOB, so settle the rule with the hall first; a question past that goes to the bureau.

What deposit is normal, and when do you get it back?

A security deposit is money the hall holds and returns if the room comes back as it was. The printed deposits run $100 to $200 at the township and borough buildings, $150 at Ruscombmanor's fire hall, $75 at Earl Township's, and $500 at the Oley Fair Centre for a wedding. Oley's page prints no party deposit. Kraras prints no deposit either; it asks for a one-day event insurance certificate, about $120. Fleetwood prints no deposit, and a cancellation more than 60 days ahead gets the rental back.

When do you pay? West Reading prints the whole schedule: half the rental at booking, the rest when you pick up the key, and a cash deposit returned after the borough inspects the building.

Frequently asked questions about hall rental in Berks County.

Can a non-resident rent a township or borough hall?

At Dunn and the Bicentennial House, yes, at the higher of the two rates in the table. Fleetwood's café rents only to borough residents and people in the Fleetwood school district or with a Fleetwood address.

How far ahead should you book a fire hall?

Ruscombmanor asks for one or two backup dates when you call, which is the best guide, since most halls don't print their open dates; Virginville's page embeds its calendar and Exeter's booking site shows Dunn's taken blocks.

Can you hire a bartender for a hall that has no bar?

The state's rule: you may pay someone to pour what you bought, but that person can't supply or sell it, and nothing can be charged for a drink.

What to do this week to book a hall.

Pick a date, a head count and two backup dates, and open the list of event venues in Berks County to pick three halls the right size. Call each and ask four things: the price for your day, what comes with it, the alcohol rule and how the deposit comes back. Write the answers down, then go see your pick. December's office party has its own post, holiday party venues in Berks County. A fire hall or township room for a few hundred dollars fits a family budget.
