If you've been handed the December party and you're booking it from your phone, you're choosing among seven kinds of holiday party venues in Berks County: a restaurant's private room, a hotel meeting room, a country club ballroom, a rental hall, a winery or brewery, a museum or arts center, or a bowling or go-kart place. The earlier you call, the more of them are still open, and the full list of event venues in Berks County has its own page. What decides your bill isn't the room so much as the per-person price, the room fee, the minimum and the service charge.

What kinds of holiday party venues in Berks County can you book?

Christine's Creekside Inn in Birdsboro takes holiday gatherings, and more are on the restaurants in Berks County page. Cheers Bistro, inside the DoubleTree in Reading, has a private dining room, and your guests park free in the hotel garage.

The largest meeting room at the Courtyard in Wyomissing holds 72 for a seated banquet, and the hotels in Berks County page lists the others.

Some country clubs take parties from people who aren't members, Moselem Springs among them, and the country clubs in Berks County page lists the clubs. Heidelberg Country Club in Bernville has a ballroom for up to 225. Galen Hall in Wernersville has five event spaces, the biggest indoor one for 110, and permits outside catering.

Rental halls hand you the room and let you build the party yourself. Kraras Hall of Wyomissing holds 250 with a dance floor or 300 without, and asks renters for a one-day event insurance policy it estimates at about $120. West Wyomissing Fire Company's Social Quarters in West Lawn holds up to 150 and sells every drink through its own bar.

Wineries and breweries bring their own drinks to the deal. Folino Estate in Kutztown has a banquet room for 230, Setter Ridge Vineyards in Kutztown rents its tasting room in the evening after it closes, and Schaylor Brewing has event space for parties of 20 or more. The Reading Public Museum hosts company holiday parties, caterer of your choosing; GoggleWorks rents rooms too.

Lucky Strike Sinking Spring, which used to be Berks Lanes, sells holiday packages, State Street Lanes in Hamburg charges $60 a lane per hour Wednesday through Sunday, and The Works at Wyomissing runs per-person go-kart packages and a flat laser-tag package. What does a holiday party cost per person?

The Inn at Centre Park in Reading, as of 2026, prints a cocktail party at $70 a person with a 25-person minimum, and that covers a choice of seven hors d'oeuvres served for an hour and a half, plus soda and coffee. Its dinner buffet is $38 a person for two entrées or $45 for three, with soup, salad, sides, dessert and coffee. The prices don't include 6% sales tax or the 20% service charge.

Mimmo's in Reading has two banquet rooms, one for about 120 people and one for 60 to 70, and its banquet menu starts at $35 a person. That per-person price includes the private room, with some exceptions.

Christine's Creekside prints its banquet menu by the entrée, from $14.95 for a lunch entrée to $43.95 for the seafood sampler, with prime rib at $36.95, plus unlimited soda, coffee and tea at $3.50 a head. Its 6% tax and 20% gratuity are added on top.

What are a room fee, a minimum, a deposit and a service charge?

A room fee is a flat charge for the private room on top of the food. A food and beverage minimum is the least you agree to spend on food and drink to hold the room. A deposit is the money that holds the date, and it's often not refundable. A service charge is a percentage the venue adds to the bill, and it may or may not be a tip.

Christine's Creekside prints two room fees. A daytime party on a day the restaurant is closed is $300. The whole building during business hours is $800, and a DJ, live music or more than 50 guests means the whole building. A $100 deposit holds the date, and for anything those two lines don't cover, ask. The Inn at Centre Park's rental fee is $500, or $750 on a Saturday or holiday, plus 6% tax, on top of its per-person menu.

Mimmo's deposit is $500 and isn't refundable. Each banquet gets a three-hour window, and every hour past it costs $200.

Setter Ridge rents its tasting room for $450, evenings only from 5:30 p.m., with a $250 beverage purchase minimum, and its deposit is half the quote if you book 30 or more days out, or the full rental fee inside 30 days. It adds $1,000 for a party with what it calls reception-style elements, which on its list means dancing, amplified music, speeches or formal entertainment, so ask before you plan a toast.

Is the service charge a tip? Sometimes. The Inn at Centre Park and Christine's add 20%, and Christine's calls it gratuity; Folino Estate adds 20% and says all of it goes to staff, and Setter Ridge adds 20% on the wine you buy. Pennsylvania's 6% sales tax goes on top. Setter Ridge's deposit is half the quote, and at Lucky Strike any deposit counts toward the total, so those are part of the bill you'd pay anyway; for a flat deposit like Mimmo's or Christine's, ask whether it's applied to the final bill. Then multiply the per-person price by your headcount and add the room fee, the service charge, the tax and any bar fee.

When should you book, and what does cancelling cost?

Lucky Strike's holiday event season runs November 2, 2026 through January 31, 2027, and the company says to book early. Mimmo's says three to four weeks' notice is ideal.

At Lucky Strike, 10% of the total becomes nonrefundable when you sign. Cancel more than 30 days out and everything else is refunded. Reschedule inside 30 days and the fee is half the minimum you agreed to spend plus any add-ons; cancel inside 30 days and there's no refund, and you still owe the contracted amount.

Can you bring your own alcohol to a holiday party?

Pennsylvania's liquor laws don't stop you from bringing alcohol bought in Pennsylvania into any establishment, licensed or not. The venue decides whether to allow BYOB, which is just bringing your own alcohol, and may charge a corkage fee, a charge for serving alcohol you brought; a municipality can restrict BYOB too, and a club has to follow its own bylaws.

The Inn at Centre Park is BYOB with a bar set-up and service fee of $10 for everyone on the headcount. Christine's allows no outside alcohol and offers several bar options instead. Mimmo's bills an open bar by the drink rather than by the head, and Lucky Strike sells an open bar or drink tickets.

What should you ask before you sign the contract?

The venues in the table are the ones that print at least some of their terms online; most of the others quote by phone or form.

Published on each venue's own site, read October 2026. Several add 6% sales tax and a service charge.

Ask each venue the same four things. First, outside catering: Galen Hall permits it, and State Street Lanes and The Works' go-kart packages allow no outside food except a cake. If a cake is allowed, order it from the best bakeries in Berks County list.

Second, the screen and sound (AV) and the parking: GoggleWorks rents a laptop and projector for $100 a day and has a free private lot. Third, the end time: GoggleWorks events end by 10 p.m., with a $70-an-hour security fee for the time after 9 p.m., and The Works charges $100 for every 15 minutes past the booked end time on some of its packages. Fourth, the headcount deadline: counts lock two weeks out at Centre Park and Christine's.

The contract you sign is what decides the deposit, the minimum and the cancellation terms, so read it before you pay; this page explains what those terms usually mean, nothing more. Pick two or three event venues in Berks County, call this week, and ask those four questions.

Frequently asked questions.

How far ahead should you book a December party?

As far ahead as you can. Mimmo's calls three to four weeks ideal, and Lucky Strike says to book early.

Is the deposit refundable?

Often not. Mimmo's isn't refundable, and Lucky Strike makes 10% of the total nonrefundable the day you sign.

Can you bring your own cake?

At the activity venues that print a rule, outside food is out except a cake: State Street Lanes and The Works' go-kart packages both allow one. For cookies or anything else you'd carry in, ask.
