Bridal Shops and Tux Rental in Berks County
Where the Berks County bridal shops are, what a dress and a tux rental cost here, and how far ahead to book the appointments so ordering and alterations fit before the wedding.

Berks County has four bridal shops, all by appointment apart from one walk-in evening a month at Dressed In Love: Dressed In Love Bridal Suite in West Reading, Mayller Italian Style and L&H Bridal RACK in Sinking Spring, and Pocadiz Bridal in Laureldale. An off-the-rack gown here, a sample you buy as it hangs and take home, starts at $499 as of 2026 at Dressed In Love, the one shop that prints a gown price.
At Fifty-Fifty and Men's Wearhouse, a tux rental with the shirt and tie included starts between about $150 and $250, and a jacket-and-pants rental starts near $100 before the $12 damage and handling fee. A made-to-order gown, one the maker cuts to your measurements after you order it, takes about 16 to 20 weeks to arrive and then needs up to three fittings, the appointments where the seamstress pins the dress to you. So brides shop nine to twelve months out and buy eight to ten months out. A wedding party books its tuxes at least four months out.
Start with the dress, because it has the longest lead time. The clothing stores in Berks County page lists the county's clothing stores, the bridal and formalwear shops among them.
Where are the bridal shops in Berks County?
Dressed In Love Bridal Suite is at 639 Penn Avenue in West Reading, and its off-the-rack gown prices are on its site. It opens for walk-ins once a month, on the second Friday.
Mayller Italian Style, at 4054 West Penn Avenue in Sinking Spring, designs its own gowns and has them made in Italy, and its tailors alter dresses and tuxes in house. A gown you bought somewhere else is welcome on the alteration table too.
Also on Penn Avenue in Sinking Spring, L&H Bridal RACK at 4453 Penn Avenue sells off-the-rack designer gowns you can take home the same day and gowns you order, and it rents tuxedos too. It offers layaway, which means a down payment and then monthly installments before you take the dress home.
Pocadiz Bridal, at 3623 Kutztown Road in Laureldale (a Reading mailing address), carries bridal, prom and quinceañera gowns, alters in house, and its tuxedos come from Tuxedo by Sarno, a formalwear rental company. The alteration price comes at the appointment.
Do you need an appointment at a Berks County bridal shop?
Yes, at all four. A bridal appointment is 90 minutes at Dressed In Love and at Mayller. At Dressed In Love the appointment is free, you can bring up to four guests, and the booking system wants at least 48 hours' notice; cancel inside 48 hours and it costs $50. Mayller fits tuxedos too, at a 60-minute appointment, and its alteration fitting runs 30 minutes.
Dressed In Love's walk-in evening is 5 to 8 p.m. on the second Friday of the month. The tux shops ask for fewer appointments. Fifty-Fifty Tuxedos in Sinking Spring asks for an appointment for the first wedding visit and for any three or more fittings at once; a single fitting needs none. Men's Wearhouse on Papermill Road in Reading and Jos. A. Bank at the Shoppes at Wyomissing measure for free at either store.
What do wedding dresses and tux rentals cost in Berks County?
Couples married in 2025 paid about $2,100 for the dress nationally and about $2,200 across the Mid-Atlantic, the region that includes Pennsylvania. Brides with the smallest budgets spent about $1,200, the middle about $2,000 and the largest about $3,200. Alterations aren't in that number, and most gowns need some. When you order, the shop takes a deposit, usually 30 to 50 percent, with the balance due at pickup; Dressed In Love also offers a payment plan that starts with 20 percent down. The table below carries each shop's terms as it prints them.
| Shop and town | What it prints, as of October 2026 |
|---|---|
| Dressed In Love Bridal Suite, West Reading | Off-the-rack gowns $499 to $1,500; the 90-minute bridal appointment is free, up to four guests, with a $50 fee for cancelling inside 48 hours. Payment in full or a non-refundable deposit when you say yes. |
| Mayller Italian Style, Sinking Spring | Its own gowns, made in Italy; a 90-minute wedding dress appointment, a 60-minute tuxedo fitting and a 30-minute alteration fitting, with gowns bought elsewhere welcome. |
| L&H Bridal RACK, Sinking Spring | Off-the-rack and orderable designer gowns you can take home the same day, layaway, and tuxedo rentals. |
| Pocadiz Bridal, Laureldale | Bridal, prom and quinceañera gowns, alterations in house with the price given at an appointment, and tuxedos from Tuxedo by Sarno. |
| Fifty-Fifty Tuxedos, Sinking Spring | Tuxedo rentals $169 to $249 with the jacket, pants, shirt, tie, hanky, suspenders, cuff links and standard alterations; suit rentals from $149; vests and shoes extra. Thursday pickup, Monday return; half down at the first fitting. |
| Men's Wearhouse, Reading | Jacket and pants from $99.99; with its Perfect Fit sign-up discount, six pieces (jacket, pants, shirt, tie, shoes, socks) from $149.99 and nine (plus vest, pocket square, cufflinks) from $199.99, each plus a $12 damage and handling fee. Measure, pick up or return at either chain's store. |
| Jos. A. Bank, Wyomissing (shares Men's Wearhouse's rental system) | A complete adult package from $99.99 and a $60-off rewards program of its own. Book a wedding at least four months ahead; no rush fee up to 14 days out; pickup two to four days before, return the day after. |
Each shop's own figures and terms, as its site shows them.
Most gown prices here come at the appointment; Dressed In Love prints its off-the-rack range, $499 to $1,500. A complete tux rental runs $150 to $300 nationally. Fifty-Fifty Tuxedos at 4118 Penn Avenue in Sinking Spring puts its tuxedos at $169 to $249, and that covers the jacket, pants, shirt, tie, hanky, suspenders, cuff links and standard alterations.
Men's Wearhouse and Jos. A. Bank run one rental system and measure at either store. Men's Wearhouse prices three packages: $99.99 for a jacket and pants; and, if you sign up for its Perfect Fit discount, $149.99 for six pieces (jacket, pants, shirt, tie, shoes and socks) and $199.99 for nine (those plus a vest, pocket square and cufflinks). Each comes with a $12 damage and handling fee. Jos. A. Bank's rental site prints the same $99.99 starting price for a complete package and a $60-off program of its own. The dress and the tuxes are two lines on a longer list; what a Berks wedding costs, vendor by vendor walks through the rest.
How long do ordering and alterations take?
It takes longer than the shopping itself. A made-to-order gown takes about 16 to 20 weeks to arrive. Then come the fittings, up to three of them: the first about 8 to 12 weeks out and the last one to two weeks out. That's why brides shop nine to twelve months out and buy eight to ten months out.
What do alterations cost? A basic hem runs about $200 and major changes can pass $1,000, with a typical bill landing between $300 and $600. Mayller and Pocadiz say they alter in house. A rush order or a rush alteration carries a rush fee, the extra charge for doing it fast.
When should the wedding party order tuxes?
Four months before the wedding is the number Jos. A. Bank prints for the rental system the two chains share, and Fifty-Fifty tells large parties to come in 4 to 10 months ahead, so a party of five or six should ask which it is. Nationally, wedding parties get their rentals organized 8 to 12 weeks out, so four months is early enough. The groom's first visit is the appointment to book.
What about the groomsmen in another state? Register the party four months out; each groomsman's measurements can come in after that, and an order placed at least 14 days before the wedding carries no rush fee. Fifty-Fifty takes measurements sent in from out of town, and the chains measure for free at any of their stores, so a groomsman can get measured near home. Fifty-Fifty takes half at the first fitting and the balance at pickup; the chains take full payment at the fitting. Shoes and a vest are extra at Fifty-Fifty, so ask the price when you book.
What should you book this week?
If the date is set, book the bridal appointment first, because all four shops book ahead and a made-to-order gown takes 16 to 20 weeks to arrive before the fittings start, so an order placed eight to ten months out is the safe one. If the first visit is a look and the order waits for a later trip, keep the order inside that window or expect a rush fee. Put the groom's first tux visit on the calendar four months out, and text the out-of-town groomsmen now for their measurements. If the venue isn't signed yet, pick one from the event venues in Berks County before you order a gown, because every order date counts back from the wedding date and the venue is what sets that date.
No touring bridal show stops in Berks this season; the nearest are in Allentown and Lancaster, and the Berks County wedding planning timeline lists them with the month-by-month plan. One call this week, to a bridal shop, and the longest deadline on the whole wedding is handled; the tux visit goes on the calendar four months out.
Questions brides and grooms ask about Berks County bridal shops.
Does David's Bridal have a store in Berks County?
No, not in Berks. The nearest David's Bridal is at 2548 MacArthur Road in Whitehall, and it takes walk-ins as well as appointments and alters in store.
Can a Berks shop alter a dress you bought somewhere else?
Yes. Mayller's tailors alter wedding dresses, tuxedos and formal wear in house and welcome a gown bought elsewhere. The first fitting is about 8 to 12 weeks out.
What if the wedding is three months away?
Go off the rack. L&H Bridal RACK sells gowns you take home the day you buy them, and Dressed In Love sells off-the-rack gowns from $499. For tuxes, the chains take orders without a rush fee up to 14 days before, and Fifty-Fifty says its timelines run from a month to a year. Expect a rush fee on a made-to-order gown or a fast alteration.
